Operation Bintan part 3
After a very very long wait...(DnD / Graduation along the way) the much anticipated oversea trip to Bintan finally happened. 3 lecturers with family and 11 students eventually able to make it. Total number : 20. Just nice, any more than that...I really cannot manage le (amaturish tour guide here lah...)
Really excited about this trip and spent quite some time planning the activites around the 2 full days. Wanted to make sure all are happy and occupied. So tried very hard to packed the events from 9am to 3am...just to be sure the will not leave Bintan feeling bored. If not I have to provide a refund as promised.
Day 1 - arrival at Bintan after a choppy boat ride...now than i know some of u get seasick easily.
Smooth check-in, I went jackuzee to relax, have a simple lunch, went to TianLin/Idy rooms to play dice games / watch TV...then came the main event- PAINTBALLS!!!
From the pictures shown you can see we are really engrossed into the war. Game 1 I lead a Orange team against Christof's Blue. Somehow my strategy works - our aim...is to quickly move foreword as much as possible, because i guessed correctly that when the whistle is blown, the other team will be still busy engaged in discussion.
So it works and the blue team is pinned back behind the slim trees. 5 of them, like a bunch of sitting duck, all trying very hard to take cover...pardon my language...but it's like any how shoot also can hit you know....hahaha...so we win the 1st game quite easily.
2nd game -- Kevin joined Christof...and revenge was in their mind - this time- their new strategy is clear - all 5 guns pointing at the same person - ME!!! Actually Idy (our flag carrier) should easily run foreword and take their base but i guess she also dare not expose herself to the bullets too much. In the end I also lost count of how many shots I was hit...luckily got only 2 blueblacks. (Later Lilin told me she got 3!!Yeah...at least "tan-dio-liao". )
After 2 rounds I was so tired...that i could hardly walk anymore...jumped into the tub and lie there for 30 mins motionless...
We then went for arcade games and then dinner. Very unlucky to order the poor tasting Mee-goreng. Took some pictures togeyjer but later camera was lost so got nothing to show...sorry.
Evening 7 pm we went mongrove tour / firefly watching. Cost is steep at $33 but in the end most would agree that it's worth the experience. Pitch dark environment with no moon light, shaky sampan, irrie suicidal fish jumping around, and finally fire flies that rest onthe mongrove lighting up as it was X'mas decorations.
We even manged to catch 7 and put them into bags and carried them back to show.
Then we shopped around in the pasar and buy coffee / tibits / supper etc for the night.
1st night we went karaoke singing till 1am. We are all amazed by the manual loading system and Anna's singing. Her voice was totally different from her usual talking pitch.
Next morning, after the free n full breakfast, we went buggy ridding. Just a warm up to the later Go-cart fun but it was enough for us to realise 1 thing - avoid Lilin at all cost. The rest of the seasport lovers (Tianlin / Shulin / Shiling / Siewting / Shufang) they went snokering and Bananaboat ridding.
Then we play Mahjong in my room, eat bakua, and get ready for the g0-cart.
Too bad Lilin did not join in the ridding, if not we can be the twin-terror in the track. I was also joking that luckily it was the graduates that came for the ridding...if not the 3rd years student will not listen to my safety lectures any more.
I bang into afew and afew (Shulin/Kevin !!!) bang into me as well. But overall nobody dies and we all had great fun.
Then we went for dinner at the pasar and enjoyed the live singing dinner. Overall it was just $7 per pax and worth every single penny compared to the resturant food last night.
Final night...we played settlers / big 2 / mahjong till late. I stopped at 2 am but the younger ones carried on till 4+am.
Then in the final day...another horrible choppy ride back to mainland S'pore, took a couple of group pictures and we said sayanara to each other...reluctantly.
I hope each n every one of u enjoy the trip. BTY GHH travel agent just declared bankrupt. Next agent to take over is probably KMR tours going to Canada!!!
Well, hope to see some of u, if not all again 1 year later for the next trip....Macau anyone??
