Answers That Make You Laugh (or Cry...)

These are some of the very amusing things one see in the answer booklet in final year exam papers. Used to make me feel like vomiting blood, dunno to laugh or cry...but now they are just laughing matters that we share during tea breaks.

Best of all, thanks to technological progression, I can actually take a picture of them and share them with many others too.

HAZOP Team member - this year we saw a few new suggestions.

Many future bosses around...so all like to have secretary / note taker included.

this year No.1 prize

1 inch = 12 feet

1ft cube = 0.000578 inch square

I try to imagine 2 months later when this fella go for industrial attachment, his supervisor tell him : "go get me a 2 inch diameter pipe from werahouse"...guess what he carry back??

And this reminded me of a army term also - the combined word for GUN-JIONG and CONFUSED - the new term is called GUN-FUSED.

Moving House Soon...Again!!!

I am really interested to know if anyone can beats me on the house moving record.

when I was born, we lived in Killiny Road (near Centre Point Singtel Tower - it used to be a old wet market!!). My dad was a shop keeper then and I lived/played there till I was 5.

Then came the 1st move - we bought a 4 room flat at Henderson Cres (near the Delta Sports Complex now). That where I go for Kindergarten education / early Primary school.

Then life gets better and we moved to Jalan Muteria, at River Vally area. Stayed there till I finished my primary school at River Vally. Went to River Valley Sec 1 too.

Then we moved to Toh Tuck Rd, main due to its closer to my 2nd sis's school where she was teaching. I shifted school also to Chinese High. Stayed there for about a year.

Then we moved to Carinhill Rd to stay with my dad's old friend. Stayed there for 2 years. And I was at Sec 4 then.

The rebuilding process starts again when we had our own flat at Tanglin Halt Blk 55. Stayed there for another 2 years - where I completed my A level and NS there.

Then we upgrade to Clementi Ave 3, where we stayed for a long time. I completed my NUS studies there, then started working also. (The flat is selected for en-bloc and will be pull down in 4-5 years time.)

After working for 3 years, it's time to start your own family and we bought a flat at Bukit Gombak. Lived for for only a year - then received notice to be expatriated to UK. So we rented to flat out.

Moved to Wantage (near Abingdon / Oxford) for 27 months. My daughter was born there. Then wife had enough and wanted to come back to Singapore.

Saw the conditions of our rented out flat and almost fainted. So we decided to buy a flat in the vincinity and finally chosen the current flat that we are staying at BB Central. Stayed there for almost 9 years.

Meanwhile I received expratriation notice yet again - this time to Shanghai /China. Wife doesn't want to move anymore so I have to go alone. Got a house in Roman Garden near Hong Qiao area. stayed there for 6 months and company policy changed. So I stayed in hotels instead of house to save cost.

By end of this year, I will move to Yew Tee area. How many times have I moved?? ...I also lost count le. But I am sure this is not the last one...another 10 years later, when the children are old enough and wanted to start their own lives, maybe it's time to shift to a smaller home by then.

Hey, any of you shift house more times than me??

PAINBALL 2

It's the semester break again...and it's the time that we all get together for some fun and actions again.

After the much talk about the Bintan paintball, we decide to try out the local version at Orchid country club.

Turn out was considered good, 12 staff and for the first time, we have 5 DTs / grad students joining us for the day event.

Weather had also been kind to us, cloudy but no rain. We played 3 games of 2 halves each.

1st game was the best - we have a game plan set up quickly and excecute to perfection. The game was over within 10 mins 2-0 the final score. Not bad.

2nd Game : 4 guns against 5 - wah lao - where got chance? Bullets all aiming at me again this time. I basically run out of bullet...Albert !!!!! - where the hell are u???

3rd game i was hit on the mask and the vision was basically gone by then. Managed to infutrate into the bridge n cross into their territory and ready to do some surprise damage...but then the refree sounded the alarm....they got disqualified by touching the box w/o hitting down the small target 1st...what a waste of effort!

in the end it was good fun and we are all excited and I guess everyone is still taking about it the next day.

2-6 pm we were at Blk F playing settlers and Dice game. We have now quite a number of staff trained in both games now. :)

We are now planning for Painball 3 in October -- any takers who are nor afraid of pain??

屁股开花记

It was said that skills like swimming / cycling / skating is internalised in you forever. Once you have learnt it, you will never forget how to do it. How true it is.

After 25 years, I have the chance of going ice skating again. The first 5-10 mins was horrendous. Wonder why can't I do it as well as I was 17...

Then my brain went frantically to dig into the archived historical file to serch for the document called "how to skate.exe". Took a while but finally managed to retrieved the uncorrupted file successfully and run the program.

From then onwards, eveything is back to the good old days 25 years ago.....ah....memories.....

Didn't fall while skating...but fell twice trying to help LiLin across the rink...maybe I am not good at helping people...my file only contain info on how to make people fall.

Most spectacular fall of the day...who else but BB.

Most consevative skater of the day ....Aishah's FREEZE stunt.

You cannot imagine how long it took us all to gether in the centre of the rink to take just 1 picture.

other memorable moments...

We drank hot / cold Milos and played the dice games and after 3 hours +, the foot really caanot stand being rapped up so tightly for so long...so we decided to call it a day.

Went to West mall to play the Tank battle for 20 mins...LiLin wasn't too good on ice or on go-cart wheels but she is really good at tank battles. Just 2 games of practise and she push vetren like Shulin down the rank already.

Then we proceed to Christof's place for Settlers.

Another happy and fulfilling day...only if I didn't partner BB in the settler's game...that would be really a perfect day.
