It's a plane...It's a bird...It's an Ostrich!!!

This entry is the sequel to the last post of BnJ free cone day...I was still in a very enjoyable and excited mood then, after downing 5 free cone extremely rich ice cream during that afternoon.

Still can recall that of 4 of us...DT C is the one that can really diagest all the sugar intake and feeling no ill effect of it. Upon reaching school, she still can ask around saying if we care to go for the proper lunch. I guess she was still growing...

DT F told me that she need to drink 2 full cups of Chinese tea to help cleanse the suger and cream out of the system. (Should have learnt from her!!) But beside that, everything is rather fine...dinner amount is reduced slightly only.

DT B is the first to feel the ill effect of the indulgence. Upon taking the picture in P/Plant...she was seen rush n stuck in the toilet. Managed to see her in MSN at about 5pm and she admitted that there has been a problem and was aking for pills to stop the purge.

I jokingly teased her that it will not be the end...there will still be more to come. She was adamently refuting my suggestion and replying "Choy!! Choy!! Choy!! Never!! Never!!".

Come home going time soon, and I was on my way back walking towards the Blk P lifts. While waiting for the lift to come somehow i sensed a fast yet quiet shade fast disappearing behind my back...took a quick glance back and saw this :

I suddenly realised what happened and immediately shouted : "HAHA - 4th time!!"

On the car ride home i told Christof i saw a ostrich in Q4. His eyes were wide opend and didn't looked that he believe me at all. But after I told his the story and he agree that was the best description and we really has a good laugh.

Maybe i was having too much fun laughing. My digestive system started to go wrong once I reached home. Doing the same thing DT B did in school. Luckily pills are available to do the necessary remedy fast.

The next day i even develop a mild fever...had to make a decision mid may to take leave and rest. Sleep alot during the rest of the day, sweat alot in my sleep and only after that I feel like walking on the ground rather than floating around.

Yes by now I am fully recovered. But my 1st free BnJ experience turned out to be rather comical and eventful . Not really sure will touch ice cream for the next 1 month. BnJ brand - not even the next 12 months i guess.

Give me a call next Apr 17...i will decide then to join u or not....

Apr 17 Ben & Jerry Free Cone Day!!

Received this news from Sze Ern and Bernice...it's sounds too good to be true!!

This is a wonderful day for ice-cream lovers. And it falls on a weekday, so the crowd is not too large. Plus we choose to go Great World City....which there is less lunch time ppl comapred to other B&J outlets. It was a very last minute decision made at 11.40 am and we decided to rush down town to enjoy the offer.

In the end it was a right decision. Just need to queue less than 5 mins for each ice-cream so it's quite enjoyable waiting and eating and chatting time. There are total of 6 flavours to offer for free so we decide to push ourselves to go for all 6 if possible.

BeeBee are so excited in the begining and keep saying that :"Wah it's so good, we must remember to come again next year this time...!!!"

1st round I chose Strawbreey cheesecake / 2nd round Banana monkey chunky / 3rd round cookies and cream / 4th round choco chips and dough / 5th round oatmeal and chunky. I gave the extremely rich choco n brownies a bye. Can actually push for the sixth and final round....but BeeBee is already dying of ice cream poison...can't even walk n sit properly then.

While queueing donated $10 for the children charity...consider we at 4x5 = 20 scoops that was a very reasonable sum to donate to help the good charity.

At the end of her fifth cone - BeeBee had a 360 degree U-turn and was saying: "Wah liao, next year free one also no need to call me liao...can die ah..."

I really had to thank her for coming along...if not to gave up the fight in front of Felicia / Christina will be soooo mahlu. Since she gave up 1st I can actually pretend I can continue to eat more...

When reached school, we purposely parade in front of Wai Hong n Adeline who were in the pilot plant...and all of us are slap by them both. Haahahah......

After that Beebee rush straight into the toilet and was stuck there for quite awhile...

Next year Apr 17 BnJ experience again anyone??

One of the reasons why I was seriously thinking of stopping to blog is because as I mentioned before, I got a lobang to do some technical writing for a E magazine. At that time I was really not sure how much effort it would took me, especially in the evenings to fullfill the requirements properly. Hence was a bit apprehensive and might have to give something away to do this new side track nicely.

In the end, it turned out that the contribution frequency is about once a quater...so I can actually afford the extra time in the evenings at home to research, compile, think, analyse and write.

Not that I needed the extra pocket money badly, but I took up this challenge trying to enrich myself abit, forceing myself to more serious research, analysing, summary and also brush up my writing skill. Had been spending abit too much time on MSN so my Singlish getting more and more broken liao. This is a good way to bring myself back on proper technical writing English, and if I can get paid for it...why not?


My 1st assignment is in Dec06 and it was a subject that I really know rather superficially. It's called Bitumen : A Growing Energy source in Asia. Took me about 10 ancious evenings of 2 hours each to research, compile, summarise and type into a proper document.

They also wanted me to look for high resolution pictures to accompany my article. For that I contacted Teng Hup/ Aderline to help source for Bitumen pictures and all efforts are blocked because of internal clearance issue. In the end have to feedback to them to soure the pictures thenselves through professional means.

Most challenging part of the exercise is that they wanted a section on "marketing strategies". Told them it is quite impossible for marketers to share their rice bowl with us, as i have worked in MNC for 15 years and I knew the red tape well. Imagine if they won't even want to share pictures with you, wht will they want to share strategies?? Even if they can share abit of insight....most likely that it will be very superficial that not much one can gain insight into.

In the end my assessment was correct. They wrote to afew of the MNCs and got nil reply.

Was asked to write 2000 words article and I submitted an draft version of about 1850 words. In the end the final word counts in the published format was about 1350 words. (that is what the use as a basis to pay me eventually).

2 days ago just received my 2nd assignment : 600 words article on LPG in Asia. Think this should be an easier task than the previuos one...I really hope so.

Question : How much do you think my reward is for that 1st article?? Closest answer will again get a box of chocs. Heehee. 2 tries each and hint : three figures and less than $500 lah...

Graduation CD 2007

Ok the design of the graduation CD 2007 is finally done and nicely printed. Compared to last year design (the one on the left , cloud design chosen by me) it looks more sophisticated isn't it? Thanks to Christof who help me to decide the look and print and dry the CDs.

What's inside there? Videos / photos / slide shows to what I have collected from various gathering / outing / functions / lessons with the year of CPTo4 classes. (Graduation Tour 2007 and DND NOT included...they will each have a separate CD). Took me some deliberate effort to ensure there is enough content to fill up the CD. This year no speech, the mood of doing CD is less emotional compared to last year. Just want this CD to serve as a good recollection of what we go through together for the past 2 years.

Master Luda is too modest to refrain from putting his name onto the CD design despite numerous attempt to persuade him.

Now is for mess production!!! Intend to print 50 copies...40 of them will be up for grabs in my blog registration...again 1st come 1st serve basis. Once registered, then please look for me on your graduation day and I will personally sign on your copy. Of course good that you will appreciate what Christof have done for the exercise and maybe ask him for an autograph too!!

Would like to reserve a few on my own in case some of you didn't managed to see this in time..this give me a chance to distribute the remaining few.
